Living water

Ever since Jordanian nomads settled in the spectacular landscape of Wadi Rum, they have been dependent on a complex water infrastructure. The spring is right under their feet, and yet they struggle to meet their basic needs. In the meantime, the deep-water abstraction feeds large private farms, animates visionary developments and secures the water needs of the growing urban population. Bedouins, farmers and townspeople: they all expect a fair share, but digging for the ""blue gold"" is an ecological time bomb.
