We got what we wanted

The film is set on New Year's Eve 1992. Michal and his Canadian girlfriend Charlie come home to celebrate the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, but find their family in chaos. Michal's father suffers a heart attack after incriminating evidence emerges from the fathers past. While his father's health is left to the hospital staff, his place in the family hangs in the balance as family members turn on each other and debate their own reactions, their prior knowledge, and whether they can forgive their father for his shocking past.
